You may know Russ Parr as the funny guy who hosts your morning show on your favorite radio station. But did you know that Russ Parr has had an amazing career that spans over 3 decades in radio, television and film. He got his start at 1580 KDAY in L.A. where he pioneered the urban morning radio format as host of the morning show on the nation’s first 24 hour all hip hop radio station. While doing radio in L.A., Russ created the character Bobby Jimmy and launched his own record label, rapsur records (Russ Parr spelled backward). He later signed with rappper Eazy E’s label, Ruthless Records, and recorded several parody albums under the name Bobby Jimmy and the Critters. The albums, produced by Dr. Dre, birthed several hit songs including “Roaches”, “Big Butt” and “Hair or Weave”. Russ has also had success in television. He created Flava Tv, one of the most successful music/ comedy television programs in the Dallas/ Ft. Worth area. He later created and hosted the hit dating game show "Get the hook up" on tv one. Recently Russ has dipped his hand into the film industry and successfully writen, produced and directed several films including The Last Stand, Something Like A Business, Love For Sale, 35 and Ticking and is currently working on several other films through his film production company Up To Parr Productions.
